Under Discounts, click "New Discount" to begin building. Follow instructions to complete.
Discount Code - Make sure you create something easy to remember (and spelled correctly!) as you won't be able to change it after it saves.
Discount Type - You can choose to do "Fixed Amount" (i.e. $25 off) or "Percentage" (i.e. 50% off). Totally up to your preference and needs.
Limit Uses - If you want to set a limit on how many times a discount code can be used.
Expires At - If you want to set a specific date for this code to stop working.
Can Be Used For - Decide what elements or offerings this discount can work for (This can be exclusive to Classes, Supplies, Memberships, or some combination of these)
Examples:
"RETURN15" - Can be used for classes. 15% off for returning student registrations, limited to class templates you select.
"SENIOR20" - Can be used for classes or supplies. 20% off for senior citizens registering for classes or purchasing supplies.
"MEMBERKIDS" - Can be used for classes. X percentage off for current member's children registering for studio classes. Marked as Members Only.
"FIRSTMONTHFREE" - Can be used for memberships. "Membership Discount Duration" drop-down will appear, you can select just "First Charge". 100% off first month.
If needed, you can also set it to be for specific groups or user types – i.e. anyone with an account set up already, members only, certain types of classes, etc.
Classes
Example: "MEMBER20" - Can be used for classes. 20% off class registration for members only.
Memberships
When marking "Members" under Can Be Used For, you can also select if this code can be used "Forever", "First Charge", or "Repeat" for an x amount of months (up to your customization).
Click save.
You can build out as many as you want – some studios have some for classes, one for an x amount off supplies, another code for Friends and Family discount. It's all up to you!
Suggestions on promoting or providing your discount codes:
Some studios list them on social media posts, in newsletters, or as a special on website. For Members-Only codes, they can be included in dashboard on Kiln Fire rather than in public online spaces. For class-specific ones, some studios share a code at the end of one class to encourage registration for another class coming up soon.
